Journal of Conservation Science accepts articles, introductions, communications, notes and reviews in all fields of the conservation science for cultural heritage, and a manuscript should submitted in Korean or English.


For the policies on the research and publication ethics not stated in this instructions, International standards for editors and authors (http://publicationethics.org/resources/international-standards-for-editors-and-authors) can be applied.


All manuscripts should be submitted electronically through Journal of Conservation Science electronic submission system which can be accessed at http://submission.conservation.or.kr/. With the submitted manuscript authors should provide the names, addresses, and e-mail addresses of at least four suggested reviewers. Submission of a paper implies that it has not been published previously, that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and that if accepted it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other languages, without the written consent of the editorial committee.


All authors must sign the transfer of copyright agreement form before the article can be published. This transfer agreement enables The Korean Society of Conservation Science for Cultural Heritage to protect the copyrighted material for the authors, without the author relinquishing his/her proprietary rights. The copyright transfer covers
the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article, including reprints, photographic reproductions, microfilm or any other reproductions of a similar nature, and translations. It also includes the right to adapt the article for use in conjunction with computer systems and programs, including reproduction or publication in machine-readable form and incorporation in retrieval systems. Authors are responsible for obtaining from the copyright holder permission to reproduce any material for which copyright already exists. Copyright transfer form should be submitted electronically through Journal of Conservation Science electronic submission system which can be accessed at http://submission.conservation.or.kr/


All manuscripts are treated as confidential. They are peer-reviewed by at least 3 anonymous reviewers selected by the editor and associate editors. Letters to the Editor
are reviewed and published on the decision of the editor. The corresponding author is notified as soon as possible of the editor’s decision to accept, reject, or request revision
of manuscripts. When the final revised manuscript is completely acceptable according to the JCS format and criteria, it is scheduled for publication in the next available
issue. Rejected papers will not be peer-reviewed again.


By default PDF-proofs will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author (first named author if no corresponding author is identified of multi-authored papers) and should be
returned within 5 days of receipt, unless a preference for paper proofs is expressed. Corrections should be restricted to typesetting errors; any others may be charged to the author. Any queries should be answered in full. Please note that authors are urged to check their proofs carefully before return, since the inclusion of late corrections cannot be guaranteed. Paper proofs are to be returned to the website (Revised in 2016) (http://www.conservation.or.kr/html/sub4_01.html) The journal will do everything possible to get your article corrected and published as quickly and accurately as possible. Therefore, it is important to ensure that all of your corrections are sent back to us in one communication, by the corresponding author. Subsequent corrections will not be possible, so please ensure your first sending is complete.


Authors will be provided with his/her publication and a PDF file at no cost, but authors supported by research fund, are requested to pay a half of print charge except color pages. For printed color pages, authors are requested to pay page charge around 200,000 KRW (200.00 USD for foreigners) for each printed page.


Fifty offprints will be supplied free of charge. Additional offprints and copies of the issue can be ordered at a specially reduced rate using the order form sent to the corresponding author after the proofreading for the print version is completed.
